Marian is an ophthalmologist who has been in private practice for 25 years in Prince George. She cares for patients with a variety of eye disorders and her subspecialty expertise is in glaucoma. Marian performs various laser and eye surgeries. Marian graduated from University of Saskatchewan with a medical degree with distinction, followed by a one year rotating internship,/family medicine. She then completed a three year ophthalmology residency at the University of Saskatchewan and furthered her training with a one year fellowship year in glaucoma at Emory University in Atlanta,Georgia. Marian is a Clinical Associate Professor, University of British Columbia and have been involved with teaching medical students, and family medicine residents for 25 years. Marian was on the CNIB board from 1995 to 2003 and has sat on a few UHNBC medical committees. Marian and her husband Michael have three young adult children. They are supporters of the arts community and very much enjoy symphony concerts, live theatre and dance performances. Inspired by their children, Marian and Mike have been taking adult ballet, tap and hip hop dance classes. Marian enjoys singing in a small choral group, taking voice lessons and participating in local musicals. She also enjoys various activities such as running, skipping, biking, kayaking, hockey and swimming.
